Charles and Ray Eames developed this tandem shell seating for Herman Miller in 1963 as a comfortable solution for heavily trafficked spaces. There are two vinyl-upholstered fiberglass-reinforced armchairs, in a green vinyl attached to cast aluminium spiders that are mounted on a steel T-beam. In the middle sits a white laminate tabletop with a dark vinyl edge. The overall length of the setup is 78″, the height is 33″. The center table is 17″ by 22″ and is 18″ off the floor. Configuration of shell chairs and table can be changed.
